Old-Style Building with Historic Charm

This district in northern Berlin was a synonym for the GDR in the fifties, because the middle-class district was home to leading politicians and embassies. The Mayakowskiring in Pankow was, for large periods of time, a closed residential area of the GDR nomenklatura. No. 13 Tschaikowskistraße is a house steeped in history:  it once housed the Embassy of the Soviet Union. Today, real estate in this fine location in the north of Berlin is very popular especially for families with children.

The property features a total of 20 apartments, whose generous living space is distributed over two to six rooms. The apartments are in varying condition: from state-of-the-art furnishings to simple living, everything is there. The house was extensively refurbished and renovated. In the interior communal areas, such as the hallway and staircase, the 1912-old building character was carefully preserved.

Over the years, the house has almost become a concept property: the house has a communal garden and the Lotusblüte Kita. Families with children can easily find the right condominium here.

This is a trendy location: The old-style apartments in the Tschaikowskistraße are located in the middle of the lush Berlin-Pankow. The historically important 350-year-old Baroque Schönhausen Castle is just a stone's throw away, and the flow of the Panke right outside your doorstep, is something that has already inspired the likes of Claire Waldoff and Heinrich Zille. The Panke connects the castle park with the Bürgerpark.

Shops And Supermarkets

The properties in Tchaikovskistraße offer a lot of shopping in their vicinity- supermarkets for the daily needs as well as grocery discount stores and chemists. For more sophisticated demands there are shops, craftsmen and service providers in the vicinity, such as in the Grabbeallee or Hermann-Hesse-Straße. As iff that wasn't enough, you'll be happy about the wide range of products offered by the 80 or so specialist shops in the Rathaus-Center Pankow. You can get there from the apartment via public transport in just ten minutes.

Schools and Kindergarten

Owners of an apartment in the Tschaikowskistraße 13 can look forward to an in-house daycare facility. It has been part of the concept of the residential building for many years. Other kindergartens and elementary schools are located in the immediate vicinity of condominiums on Tchaikovsky Street. Pankow also has community schools, denominational schools and a Waldorf school. There are also several secondary schools and two secondary schools named after Rosa Luxemburg and Carl von Ossietzky. The education center Pankow is rounded off by several vocational schools, music schools, a ballet school and even an acting school - the "INAC" (International Network of Actors) on Pestalozzistraße.

Restaurants, Bars and Cafès

The inhabitants of the Tschaikowskistraße can enjoy the proverbial Berlin flair by visiting some of the nice cafes and restaurants in the area, all within easy walking distance. The pretty Sommerlust Café in the castle grounds is almost within eyeshot. Speaking of seeing: When did you last go to the cinema? In 1996, the legendary, traditional "Blue Star" cinema reopened - a well-known address in Berlin. It was already screening films 100 years ago! In the side streets around Tschaikowskistraße there are typical Berlin pubs with the charm of the Pankow neighborhood, as well as the Rosenstein beer garden the Bürgerpark. Young people meet in the "Kurt-Lade-Klub" youth center only about 600 meters from their apartment in the Tschaikowskistraße.

Parks and Recreation

The apartments in the Tschaikowskistraße are complemented by the house garden, which is communal. In addition, Berlin-Pankow has its own green lung: the three recreational areas of Schlosspark Schönhausen, Volkspark Schönholzer Heide and Bürgerpark Pankow together make up an area of approximately 48 hectares. All three are within easy walking distance. Picturesquely nestled in the castle park is the Pankow summer bath, a modern adventure pool for the whole family, with swimming school and wellness area. Those who call an apartment in Tchaikovsky street their home are doing something for the benefit of their body and soul with opportunities for relaxation, recuperation, jogging or going for a walk. The Tschaikowskistraße itself is quiet - the view from your room seems almost suburban.

Transport

If you change from the Tschaikowskistraße stop to the M1 tram, you will reach Friedrichstrasse nonstop, directly in the heart of city center. The connection of your apartment to the public transport network is therefore very good. It is only four minutes to the 250 bus, which brings you to the underground and S-Bahn station Pankow. From there, you have the fastest connection to all parts of Berlin, whether with the U2 to Ruhleben in the west or with the S-Bahn to the junction Ostkreuz, or to eight different bus lines.

Medical Care

The property houses a psychologist as well as a homeopathic practitioner. In the vicinity of your apartment in Tschaikowskistraße you will find several dentists, doctors and pharmacies. In a medical emergency, there are also five hospitals available to you. The largest among them is the Caritas Clinic "Maria Heimsuchung" with nine specialist departments. In addition, there are, inter alia, the maternity hospital in the Kreutzstraße and the Evangelical Lung Clinic on Lindenberger Way. Anyone who owns a flat in Pankow does not have to worry about medical care.
